A mate of mine is auctioning a few genuine
Terry Richardson items for a good cause!
Only a few days left, pretty wicked goods!
Up for grabs are all hand signed:-
Kid in New Jersey, 1997 ( 27cm x 36cm )
Annie The Pig, 1999 ( 27cm x 36cm )
and my personal favourite, Underwear - “SxxK MY CxxK!”
Go for it!
After the recent earthquake in Hengchung ,Taiwan measuring a magnitude of 7.1, the whole of Asia’s telecommunications was bought to an utter halt. I came to a realisation on the importance of being connected. I was even trying to use GPRS to check my emails, with absolutely no luck. Well, I ended up playing my guitar for hours which was actually sort of refreshing.
Anyway, sorry about the Daily Catches! Lets catch up in the New Years!
I hope you all had a great Christmas, and I look forward to 2007. It’s going to be fantastic.
OK sorry, i’m a little slow on this one (we don’t get GAP commercials here in Hong Kong), but after checking out Logan’s new goodies, I stumbled upon this pretty interesting piece featuring dear Audrey from the movie Funny Face.
Nice execution, rhythm and extremely sassy. Clever, no?
Check it out here.
And then, check out the spoofs by Andy Dick and Jay Leno. Giggle…

I’m back from my short, but very sweet trip! Overly jet lagged to catch any ‘fish’, but itching to plug this amazing newish online app from Adobe Labs called Kuler. Previously posted in my Daily Catches, I’ve grown so fond of this app it deserves it’s own post!
In essence it’s a colour community/harmonious colour mixer with a myriad of unique and individual combinations. You can create your own technicoloured schemes or browse from the deep pool of already created swatches made by the users of the community. The idea is not too fresh or new (see colorlovers.com), but Adobe’s execution is absolutely fantastic. This is exactly what Flash should be used for…
Check it out at http://kuler.adobe.com and show the world your true colours!
Hey guys!
My dearest apologies to the loyal people who visit this site, but 1983 is going on a brief hiatus while I take my annual leave. I’ll return on the 10th December (with stories to tell I’m sure). 83 will continue to rock on then!
In the meantime, check out a few of my favourite sites for inspiration:

I’m sure you’ll find something good, and if you do let me know!
That’s all for now. Have a good two weeks fellas!
I am in the process of deciding whether to give up my Dell 9300 for a 2.33GHz 15″ MacBook Pro Core Duo 2. I’ve been to appledefects.com and i’m a little apprehensive.
I am curious if anyone has one who visits ‘83, and would be glad to know your thoughts before I go out and completely splurge my savings on one…
I noticed 1983 was getting a tad slow on server responses, whether this is because of WordPress or traffic I don’t know. I’ve implemented this nifty little plugin called WP-Cache 2. Don’t know if it works, but hey lets give it a go!
Also stumbled upon this big ass timewaster called Google Image Labeller.
You pair up with another random person whos online at the site (or you can create an account if you’re really keen…) and play this mini game in which you define or label keywords for images on Google - in essence improving Google’s Image Search.
Shouldn’t they be offering a prize or something for the top scorers? You’re basically unknowingly working for Google, for free, albeit improving your ego if you’re Top 5 on the All Time Ranking. I’m surprised they don’t have Adsense blocks around the whole thing. In a sense, it’s how Google has become so accurate with their searches, but with images they can’t use autonomy to detect what the image is. Is this the ultimate sneaky solution?
Anyway, quite addictive nonetheless…
I had a little free time today (shock!) and was just browsing around for some nice addons for WordPress. I found this beauty, WP Tiger Administration by Steve Smith.
Steve has done a wonderful job of giving the WordPress Admin area a slick visual update based upon the sleek aesthetics of Tiger (OS X). The install is simple (upload to your plugins folder, and activate.)
What a difference! The only thing is, it doesn’t work in Internet Explorer. But do you care?… You don’t use that thing, do you now.

I am loving The Bravery’s self titled debut release (March 2005) so i’m pimping them on ‘83.
‘Neo-post-punk, warm-fuzzy tunes’ - Aidin Vaziri
Where was I in March 2005? Oh that’s right, I was preparing my move to Hong Kong. Which means I totally let these fellas slip through. Shame on me…
