Sorry for the lack of Catches, i’ve been busy with my own personal work and at Whitespace.

Recently we’ve launched a studio project called Premiere Issues. The project was given birth in 2002 by my good friend and creative director Danielle Huthart. Essentially, the project is a massive collection celebrating first issue magazine triumphs.

It was my role to mature Danielle’s baby from this to this, turning the static into a live, dynamic collection with submissions, search, commenting and of course design structured in a solid grid.

I’m super happy with the result, and you should definitely check it out.

During a random excursion to HMV in Central on Sunday, I was pleasantly surprised to find the Helvetica film, an indie documentary by Gary Hustwit (in DVD AND Blu-Ray, joy!)

The film explores the history of the typeface, the visions of the designers, and interviews several rockstar designers on their thoughts of the saturated yet personable typeface. Giving both positive and negative outlooks on ‘Neue Haas Grotesk’, the film is a definite must-see for any designer, and awesome for a lazy Sunday afternoon.
